taxi.eu expands its range

From 2015 cabs in Paris and Istanbul can also be found on the taxi app taxi.eu.

With these two partnerships taxi.eu continues to pursue its strategy of offering a consistent and customer friendly taxi service via Smartphone across Europe and neighbouring countries. In future cooperation in the French capital taxi.eu relies on a partnership with the taxi app eCab, a global association of taxi radio circuits, which is currently available in India and Canada and in Europe, in France, Belgium, Netherlands, UK, Ireland and Germany.

taxi.eu has been designed as an app for taxi radio circuits and is operated by fms Systems GmbH headquartered in Berlin and Vienna. The Smartphone application is working in more than 100 cities with over 130 taxi radio circuits. Currently over 62,000 taxis with about 160,000 taxi drivers are operating with taxi.eu in more than ten European countries, such as Luxembourg, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Prague, Vienna and Berlin and the Swiss centres Basel, Geneva, Lausanne and Zurich and in Lyon, France.

Through the planned cooperation customers can use the respective app via their Smartphone application now, for example, both in Berlin and Paris, to order a taxi quickly and easily. Here, taxi.eu uses the technique of Taxi Berlin with approximately 5,700 connected vehicles, eCab in Paris creates orders for about 7,600 vehicles of the taxi centre „Taxis G7“.

„With eCab we have a like-minded partner in Paris. This is consistent with our strategy of creating business opportunities out of the innovative offers for our passengers. With this cooperation we both expand our respective networks for our customers,“ says Hermann Waldner, CEO and founder of taxi.eu. „Berlin is an attractive market. eCab users can soon use our high quality taxi service by Smartphone in another city. We are continuously expanding our network,“ says Vincent Stammbach, Managing Director, eCab.

Compared to Paris and Berlin, taxi dispatching structures in Istanbul are different. In this metropolis of 15 million people and 18,300 individually licensed taxis one hails a vehicle or goes to one of the official taxi stands which simultaneously work as a sort of radio circuit. This structure will now be modernized, so the app operators have set up a joint venture with local partners.
